Modern reproduction of the extractor to fit the 1917 Enfield, AKA P-14 and P-17 rifles.<\/p>\n

The P-14 and P-17 rifles were British, developed in 1914, and chambered in .303.\u00a0 The US Army adopted these rifles to 30-06 to create the M1917 Enfield<\/b>, the \u201cAmerican Enfield\u201d, formally named \u201cUnited States Rifle, cal .30, Model of 1917<\/b>\u201c.\u00a0 This ejector is based on the original US Government drawings for the part, and differs from the USGI part only in that a critical flaw has been eliminated.\u00a0 The original part had an integral spring that was cut with a slitting saw, leaving sharp internal corners where cracks could initiate.\u00a0 The result was many broken springs, and an eventual series of redesigns that used separate springs.\u00a0 This reproduction part achieves a radiussed root of the integral spring, eliminating stress concentrations.<\/p>\n
