{"id":2338,"date":"2018-05-29T17:41:08","date_gmt":"2018-05-29T21:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/shootingsight.com\/?post_type=product&#038;p=2338"},"modified":"2026-06-21T11:00:50","modified_gmt":"2026-06-21T15:00:50","slug":"scarscrews","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/shootingsight.com\/?product=scarscrews","title":{"rendered":"SCAR 16\/17 Upper Receiver Screws"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"product-description \">\n<div class=\"qsc-html-content\">\n<p>Alloy steel replacement screws for the SCAR 16\/17 upper receiver.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Set includes<\/p>\n<p>1 \u2013 M5x10 for the top of the rear trunnion \u2013 3mm Allen<\/p>\n<p>9 \u2013 M4x6 for the sides of the rear trunnion, the guide rail, the case deflector \u2013 2.5mm Allen.<\/p>\n<p>4 \u2013 M4x8 for the \u2018teardrops\u2019 and front sling plate \u2013 2.5mm Allen.<\/p>\n<p>4 \u2013 M4x12 for the side rails \u2013 2.5mm Allen.<\/p>\n<p>2 \u2013 M5x12 T25 Torx for the bottom rail \u2013 T25 Torx.<\/p>\n<p>2 \u2013 Allen wrenches, 2.5mm and 3mm.<\/p>\n<p>1 \u2013 T25 Torx wrench.<\/p>\n<p>Only screws thing missing are the 6 custom ratcheting screws to mount the barrel and the front trunnion (these are an OEM item).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>I presume that due to US mil-spec requirements for corrosion resistance, the OEM screws are stainless, and have a habit of stripping out.\u00a0 These alloy steel screws are stronger and won\u2019t strip as easily.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: screws on a SCAR are held in place by green Loctite, which is strong, and requires that you apply heat to soften it prior to removal.\u00a0 Personally, I like to use a propane torch, but you need to be careful as there are some plastic parts which can melt or burn if you get them too hot or aim the torch wrong.\u00a0 I don\u2019t guarantee this method will work for you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Complete set of SCAR upper receiver screws, including Allen wrenches.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":4011,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0},"product_cat":[19],"product_tag":[146,155,156,157,158],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO 4.9.8 -
