Ferrari routed the high (up to 30A) current for the starter solenoid through the ignition switch, and did not include a snubber diode, so when the contacts opened there is a large arc that erodes the contacts. As a result, burnt out starter contacts was a common failure mode for these switches …. which are no longer made by Bosch or by the alternate supplier SWF.
I have collected a set of these, disassembled and cannibalized the good parts to re-assemble a small set of units that function correctly and do not have eroded contacts.
Used, good condition, some external staining or chips, but fully functional and in good mechanical shape. It has been disassembled, contacts polished, cleaned, verified working and reassembled.
