Description
Modern reproduction of the extractor to fit the 1917 Enfield, AKA P-14 and P-17 rifles.
The P-14 and P-17 rifles were British, developed in 1914, and chambered in .303. The US Army adopted these rifles to 30-06 to create the M1917 Enfield, the “American Enfield”, formally named “United States Rifle, cal .30, Model of 1917“. This ejector is based on the original US Government drawings for the part, and differs from the USGI part only in that a critical flaw has been eliminated. The original part had an integral spring that was cut with a slitting saw, leaving sharp internal corners where cracks could initiate. The result was many broken springs, and an eventual series of redesigns that used separate springs. This reproduction part achieves a radiussed root of the integral spring, eliminating stress concentrations.
Made from Spring Steel, black oxide finish.
