Reduced aperture hoods for the M1 / M14 NM sight increase your depth of field, and help your eye focus on the front sight and the target at the same time.
0.047″ provides 10% or 20% less blur, versus standard NM apertures of .052″ or .0595″ resp. 0.042″ provides 20% or 30% less blur, resp.
Hood only. Available as hood/rack assembly elsewhere in order list.
Preserves 1/2 MOA adjustability by rotating hood.
Reducing the aperture diameter will increase the depth of field of the eye, and will result in improved focus on both the front sight and the target.

Recently installed Art’s reduced aperture in my GI NM rack, shaft fit was tight, went together easily and has no play r or slop. Made a huge difference in sight picture. The improved depth of field makes for a sharp post and bull and the aperture is still large enough to provide a bright sight picture overall. Wish I had one of these 15 or 20 years ago! Probably the best upgrade to the M1/M14 sights after good hand fitting and stoning of the rack and base. Two thumbs up!
